As a first timer, I was really looking for a retreat that would feel authentic, safe and supportive. I’m grateful to have found La Vida Divine when I did. As a Black woman, I was especially drawn to this retreat because it’s run by two women of color who are intentional about cultivating a healing space for some of the most marginalized communities. Jhoselyn, Gaddy, Savio, Jaime and the rest of the team have created a space that feels like you’re healing with family.

I have been wanting to try my ancestors way of healing through using Pachamama (Mother Earth). I finally found a place I knew I would be safe and I would allow myself to surrender to plant medicine, allow myself to be vulnerable. I have had a life changing experience @la_vida_divine_healing @lavidadivine I no longer feel hopeless and I can see clearly. Ayahausca, San Pedro, mediating and resting has I taught me that I actually don’t want to die, I want live, I have every reason to live. I want to live for my son, wife, sis, dad and most importantly myself. I leave my old self here in the Amazon. I am no longer Giselle, I leave here as Yamamua, the name given to me by the Shuar tribe.

I’ve been interested in experiencing Ayahuasca for years but I never found a place that seemed like a good fit. La Vida Divine was everything that I had hoped and I’m so glad I discovered it. Jhoselyn and Gaddy are phenomenal hosts and facilitators. They are available for communication before, during, and after the retreat. Knowledgeable in plant medicine and Western medicine, I always felt like I was safe and in good hands. Lodging was clean and comfortable and the meals were delicious. I felt well prepared for the ceremonies and the small group setting allowed for an intimate experience. It was a life-altering 10 days and I will be back.
